It's easier to conform than to stand up and stand out. However, just remember that you don't have to stand alone. 3 Hebrew boys stood together in the face of conformation.

If you feel like you're standing alone, just remember that God is there with you. Jen and I along with your church family are here for you and we love you.

Don't be afraid to stand out. We are are called to be a city on a hill. When you find it hard to stand, find a place to pray. God will give you the strength to stand.

Kripy Kreme Reminder

Hey afterSHOCK!

Just wanted to remind all of you that we will be having a meeting Wednesday night with your parents so that we can start our Krispy Kreme fundraiser.  We will go over the details with you and your parents and you can begin selling them the very next day!

We said it Sunday morning, but I am saying it again. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE sell as many as you can.  Even if you're not going to Mid-Winter, the sales will benefit you in some way, I assure you.

     Love You All

New Year New Us

As we come towards the end of another year, I can't help but think about the traditional 'New Year's Resolutions'.  Now in my mind, it seems these are never fulfilled.  Maybe rarely.  Why?  Well, it could be anything from a weak foundation, unrealistic goals, lack of TRUE desire, or any number of things.

I myself have a few New Year's Resolutions.  I hope to attain them.  One of which is consistently making more time for prayer, fasting, and reading the Bible.  You may not think that's a big deal.  However, I assure you that's the most important,... for all of us.

Now, afterSHOCK, I pose a challenge to you.  Make some New Year's Resolutions for yourselves.  I hope #1 on your list will be making more time for prayer, fasting, and reading your Bible.  The others don't have to be 'Try to be super spiritual'.  Maybe just smile more, be a better friend, always give your best, nothing outrageous just real, simple, and attainable.

I love you guys and am praying for you always.  Hope to see you at our New Year's lock-in, but most importantly I hope to see you all give more of yourself to Jesus Christ in this coming year!  Much love!
